Let’s take a look at the Baccarat rules and some of the odds. The main objective when playing this game is to try and bet on the winning hand. The winning hand is the one which finishes closest to 9 points. You can place a wager on the banker’s hand to win, on the players hand to win or for the game to end in a draw (aka a tie).
The numbered cards from 2 through to 9 are all worth the same face value in points while the Ace is worth just 1 point. All tens, Jacks, Queens and Kings have zero value and are therefore worth 0 points. After the first two cards are dealt, you will be able to count the value of that hand.
You would simply ignore the first digit if the hand ends up with a 2-digit number and the baccarat point value of the hand is the last digit. In other words, if one of the hands contains a 4 and a 6 (4 + 6, therefore a total of 10), the hand value would be 0 points and if the hand contains a 6 and a 7 (6 + 7 = 13), the value of this hand would be 3 points.
